CABLE SHIELDING
Chomerics offers several different and unique EMI shielding cable solutions. For applications where concern over the weight of shielded cables is of the utmost concern, typically with military and aerospace applications such as those found in aircraft, missiles, and satellites, CHO-SHRINK heat shrinkable EMI shielded cable systems can be used to solve most problems. For commercial applications where weight is of concern and EMI shielding needs are somewhat lower, a commercial version is available as well. With a complement of components that include conductively coated heat shrinkable tubing, transition sections, and connector boots, entire cables can be easily shielded using commercially available hot air heat guns. More simplistic cable shielding can be addressed using CHO-FOIL metal foil tapes, CHO-FAB conductively coated fabric tape, or Shieldmesh knitted wire tape. For indoor cable shielding applications for flat cables, CHO-JAC metal foil and dielectric cable shield can be easily installed. For larger cable bundles the ZIP-EZ-2 cable shielding system, comprised of Ferrex mesh with an outer ruggedized vinyl cover, can be easily slipped over the cables and closed with the optional zipper or Velcro closure mechanism. Chomerics CHO-SORB cable ferrites are also offered as an alternative to cable shielding solutions.
